“Atelier des Lumières,” an immersive digital art museum based in Paris, will make its debut in Japan on Friday, June 12.
What is “Atelier des Lumières”?

Founded in 1990, “Culturespaces”— the company behind the “LUMIÈRES” series—is a leading European provider of authentic digital art facilities. It creates groundbreaking exhibitions that fuse world-renowned masterpieces with cutting-edge technology.
Since opening “ATELIER DES LUMIÈRES” in Paris in 2018, the series has expanded to France, the United States, the Netherlands, Germany, and South Korea. The series has attracted over 21.5 million visitors in total and is enjoyed by a wide range of people, from dedicated art enthusiasts to first-time visitors.
“Rêve de Lumières” opens in Tokyo

Designed from the ground up, this dedicated space boasts an overwhelming scale, featuring a vast exhibition area of approximately 1,500 square meters with a maximum ceiling height of 8 meters.
The venue features 106 high-definition projectors and 63 speakers. The fusion of imagery that fills the entire space and three-dimensional sound creates an immersive experience that envelops the entire body, making visitors feel as though they have stepped right into a work of art.
As the facility’s name—a combination of the French words “RÊVE” (dream) and “LUMIÈRES” (light)—suggests, visitors can expect to experience a fantastical world akin to a “dream of light.”
