A One-of-a-Kind Panorama of Mt. Fuji and Pink Blooms
Now in its 19th year, this year’s theme is “A Special Seat of Spring.”
A carpet of vibrant spring colors stretches as far as the eye can see, set against the majestic presence of Mt. Fuji. Surrounded by crisp, clear air, visitors can fully immerse themselves in what can truly be called one of the best seats to experience spring in Japan.
In addition to the expansive moss phlox fields that can only be enjoyed during this season, the venue is also decorated with colorful flowers such as hyacinths and anemones. Visitors can also explore the concurrently held Peter Rabbit™ English Garden, as well as enjoy shibazakura-themed souvenirs, food, and local specialties.
Don’t miss this spring festival, where six unique varieties of moss phlox create a one-of-a-kind pink panorama with Mt. Fuji—a breathtaking sight that can only be experienced at this time of year.

What is Moss Phlox?
Moss phlox (Phlox subulata) is a perennial plant in the Polemoniaceae family and a type of phlox.
From April to May, it blooms with small flowers about 1.5 cm in diameter in shades of red, pink, white, and purple. Native to North America, it is also known as “flower moss” in Japanese.
Its flowers resemble cherry blossoms, and because it grows low to the ground, spreading like a carpet of grass, it is called “shibazakura,” meaning “lawn cherry blossom.”
