Set against the backdrop of the Seibu Shibuya Store—which will close its doors at the end of September 2026 after 58 years of history—the interactive paranormal photography exhibition “What Those Who Can See Can See” will open on Friday, August 28. Why not treat yourself to a spine-chilling, out-of-the-ordinary experience during this season when the heat still lingers?
A New Form of Art That Lets You “Simulate” the View of a Psychic
“The Exhibition: What Those Who Can See Can See” is an interactive exhibition that invites visitors to interpret photographs from the perspective of people who can see “something” invisible to others. At first glance, these appear to be ordinary landscape photos featuring street art, but under the supervision of psychics, they are said to capture the presence of entities that “those who can see can see.”
The exhibition is supervised by Sequence Hayato, a psychic comedian well-known from television, and psychic Miyoshi. Using their perspectives as a guide, visitors will search with their own eyes for the “presences” lurking within the photographs.
Getting Up Close to “Presences” from Around the World

Now in its third iteration, the exhibition has expanded beyond abandoned sites and spiritual power spots in Japan to include overseas locations such as Las Vegas, Shanghai, Bangkok, and Sedona.
How does the nature of spiritual beings change in regions with completely different cultures, histories, and forms of faith? One of the highlights of the exhibition is the opportunity to sense these regional differences.
The special setting of Seibu Shibuya Store just before its closure
This exhibition has previously been held at venues that evoke the “memories” of their locations, such as a 93-year-old traditional Japanese house and a building slated for demolition due to redevelopment. This time, the venue is the Seibu Shibuya Store, which is set to close at the end of September.
Experiencing this mysterious exhibition at a location that has watched over the streets of Shibuya for many years is sure to heighten the sense of immersion even further.
The experience lasts about 30 to 60 minutes. It’s easy to stop by while shopping or on a date in Shibuya, adding a little bit of the “world that can be seen” to your summer outing.
