To commemorate the 10th anniversary of “THE MONSTERS” by artist Kasing Lung , the global tour that began in Shanghai has traveled through Taipei, Hong Kong, and Paris, and is finally coming to Tokyo.
The roots of “LABUBU,” the popular character created by Hong Kong-born, Dutch-raised picture book author and artist Kasin Long—whose global popularity is still fresh in our memories—can be found in his three-part picture book series, “THE MONSTERS TRILOGY”: “The Story of Puca,” “Pato and the Girl,” and “Miró’s Requiem.”

Having moved to the Netherlands as a child, he began reading picture books to learn Dutch, which sparked his interest in legends and folktales about fairies from across Europe.
Through his own brushstrokes, he breathed life into characters from the “THE MONSTERS” series, including LABUBU, creating a world brimming with imagination.
An exhibition that immerses you in the world of “THE MONSTERS TRILOGY”
This exhibition creates a space where the reality and fantasy of “THE MONSTERS TRILOGY” intersect.
In the “Immersive Video Theater”—a brand-new area—the animation for Chapter 1 of “THE MONSTERS TRILOGY,” titled “The Story of Puca,” will be presented using five-sided projections and three-dimensional surround sound.
Published 10 years ago, “THE MONSTERS TRILOGY” was released in a limited edition of only a few hundred copies, so opportunities to see it have been extremely rare. This exhibition offers a rare chance to fully immerse yourself in its world.

Exhibition-exclusive merchandise (available via lottery) will also be sold inside the exhibition venue. On the B1 floor, the limited-time “POP MART Azabudai Hills POP UP” will open. Here, you can also purchase items including 10th-anniversary commemorative merchandise.
Tickets (¥2,500 including tax, with special benefits) will go on sale on the POP MART official website starting May 25 (00:00).
