This year, the event will be held on January 4, the New Year’s vacation, for one day only, since January 5 falls on a Monday.
The venue is Makuhari Messe, the same venue as last year, and the second (GALAXY STAGE) and third (COSMO STAGE) stages and food and beverage areas of the “COUNTDOWN JAPAN” venue will be used as last year.
As in the first year, eight artists were selected to perform, based on the concept of “focusing on talented artists who have gained the trust of long-time Western music fans and new-generation artists who are enthusiastically supported by young listeners and are highly acclaimed by the core audience.
The headliners on the GALAXY STAGE are the electro-pop legends PET SHOP BOYS, known as the most successful duo in British music history, having sold more than 50 million records worldwide since their debut in 1984. DREAMWORLD” will finally land in Japan.
The GALAXY STAGE will also be joined by UNDERWORLD, who have created numerous dance anthems and are still at the forefront of the music and art scene; KNEECAP, a hip-hop trio from Northern Ireland who have garnered attention for their style that combines political and satirical lyrics with a rebellious punk spirit; and the lyricist and songwriter KNEECAP, a hip-hop trio from Northern Ireland, and ACA-ne, a music band with no specific form, who write lyrics, compose music, and play vocal guitar . The COSMO STAGE will be joined by Glass.
On the COSMO STAGE will be TRAVIS, a leading band in the UK rock scene from Glasgow, WOLF ALICE, an up-and-coming alternative rock band whose new album “The Clearing” will be released soon, Blossoms, an indie rock band from Manchester, and Just Mustard, an Irish rock band. Irish rock band Just Mustard will perform.
