On October 7, 2025, ” TeamLab BioVortex Kyoto“ will open in Minami-ku, Kyoto. The museum, which will open in a space with a total area of approximately 10,000 square meters as part of Kyoto City’s Kyoto Station Southeast Area Project, will be the largest TeamLab museum in Japan.
In preparation for the opening, TeamLab is creating a number of new artworks and works never before exhibited in Japan.

Massless Amorphous Sculpture, a giant floating sculpture, is a work created not by an object but by a special environment, based on the concept of “environmental phenomena” that “the environment creates phenomena, and these phenomena create existence. The work is currently exhibited at Team Lab Phenomena in Abu Dhabi and the Art Center of Miami, and will be shown for the first time in Japan.

The “Forest of Responding Lamps,” which was exhibited at the TeamLab Borderless in Odaiba from 2018 to 2022, will be exhibited in Kyoto.
The seemingly random arrangement of lamps in the space was mathematically derived by drawing a line from any lamp to the nearest lamp, so that a single connected trajectory of light passes through all lamps once, like a single stroke (unicursal).

The Eternal Universe of Words was created for the exhibition “Prayer,” which was held without an audience from April 25 to May 31, 2021, during the declared state of emergency caused by the new Corona. In this work, calligraphy is forever being written in a space that stretches out like an infinity, and the sound of each letter echoes from its respective position in the calligraphy, while a series of recitations continue to resonate from each of them.
The “Mori Building Digital Art Museum: Epson TeamLab Borderless,” which relocated and opened in February 2024, has attracted more than 1.55 million visitors from over 130 countries and regions in the past year, and has recorded a 98% sellout rate for tickets. TeamLab BioVortex Kyoto” is sure to become another popular tourist attraction in Kyoto.
