An art space by teamLab will appear in Yoro Valley, Chiba Prefecture, an area also known for its hot springs.
Yoro Valley is a lush, natural valley formed over many years by the Yoro River’s continuous erosion of the land.
This area is also known for its geological strata dating from the “Chibanian” period (approximately 774,000 to 129,000 years ago). The “geomagnetic reversal strata,” which preserve traces of the Earth’s magnetic pole reversal with exceptional clarity—among the clearest in the world—and the exposed rock face known as the “Kurotaki Unconformity” upstream have been selected as part of Japan’s Top 100 Geological Sites.

This exhibition is part of TeamLab’s “Digitized Nature” project, which aims to “transform nature into art while preserving its natural state.” Visitors can experience a fantastical space created by the fusion of Yoro Valley’s natural landscape and digital art.
Furthermore, this exhibition is being held as part of Chiba Prefecture’s regional branding and tourism content development initiatives, with the aim of promoting tourism in the Yoro Valley Hot Springs Resort.
Guests staying at any of the 12 participating facilities, including “Onsen Ryokan Kawa no Ie” and “MUJI BASE OIKAWA , ” can enter for free. It’s the perfect spot for a Golden Week getaway or an early summer getaway.
