The luxury lifestyle hotel brand “1 Hotels” opened its first two hotels in Miami and New York in 2015. By 2025, it had also opened hotels in Seattle, Melbourne, and Copenhagen.
A space that reinterprets the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi in a contemporary way
Located on floors 38 to 43 of the Akasaka Trust Tower, 1 Hotel Tokyo offers panoramic views of the Imperial Palace Outer Gardens, Tokyo Tower, and the city skyline. The interior design highlights the inherent texture of materials throughout, featuring sand-textured wallpaper and hand-applied plaster finishes. A line of gravel running along the walls creates a serene landscape reminiscent of Japanese mountain streams.
The hotel offers 211 rooms, including 24 suites (three of which are penthouses) and five universal rooms.
The signature restaurant, inspired by the Mediterranean, also houses an aperitif bar serving spritzers, tonics, and cocktails. The Lobby Lounge & Bar, an all-day space inspired by Japanese gin culture, centers around a 50-variety gin library featuring botanicals from around the world and Japan. Here, guests can experience the “Signature Martini Ritual,” where they select their preferred botanicals and vermouth to create their perfect martini.
The spa features five private treatment rooms and a couple’s suite, complete with relaxation spaces and a hammam room. The fitness area, named “The Field House,” operates 24 hours a day, offering Technogym equipment and a variety of classes.
