ASAKUSA CULTURE & LIGHTS 2025,” the first grand projection mapping event in the history of Sensoji Temple, will be held from Wednesday, December 3 to Sunday, December 7.
Spectacular projection mapping and special worship will be held at the same time.

Digital animation using cutting-edge technology and magnificent projection mapping images featuring the 1,400-year history and culture of Sensoji Temple will be projected on the Hozomon Gate, the five-story pagoda, and the Nitenmon Gate, an important cultural property of Sensoji Temple. The event will be held from 17:30 to 21:30.
The event is being undertaken by Ippiki, a digital creative company that provides digital content that fuses art and technology.
Since its establishment in 2019, the company has produced more than 80 projection mapping and immersive art museum events and projects in Japan and abroad, including “National Treasure Matsumoto Castle Keep Projection Mapping,” “Ukiyo-e in Motion Exhibition,” “Macau Science Center Projection Mapping,” etc. He has produced and comprehensively directed more than 80 events and projects in Japan and abroad, including projection mapping and immersive art museums.
The museum also offers special daytime viewing (¥5,000; advance application required) of the famous Denboin Garden, which is usually closed to the public, and the Ema Hall, where large painted horses by historical painters such as Kuniyoshi Utagawa, Setsudan Hasegawa, and Kazunobu Itsumi (Kano) are kept, and special nighttime viewing (¥3,000) of the fantastic light-dappled Denboin Garden. Special nighttime viewing (¥3,000, advance application required) is also available at the same time.
Visitors can enjoy the same projection mapping images no matter what time of day they come. Since crowds are expected immediately after the start of the event, it is recommended to visit as late in the day as possible!
