Starting in November! 5 Illumination Spots That Brighten Up Tokyo’s Winter

Once again this year, the “Keyakizaka Illuminations,” a winter tradition in Roppongi, have been lit up. Approximately 970,000 LED lights in the fantastical “SNOW & BLUE” theme illuminate the roughly 400-meter-long tree-lined avenue of Keyakizaka. Additionally, illuminations with distinct themes will be on display at 66 Plaza and Mouri Garden.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, this is a winter tradition in Marunouchi. Champagne-gold lights adorn the street trees along Marunouchi Naka-dori for approximately 1.2 km, creating a dazzling winter scene throughout the entire area.

Celebrating its 27th anniversary this year, this is a winter tradition in Ebisu. The sparkle of one of the world’s largest chandeliers brilliantly illuminates Ebisu Garden Place. Additionally, a Christmas tree approximately 10 meters tall will be on display in Clock Square. A Christmas market will also be held, where you can enjoy special menus perfect for the cold season from food trucks.

Midtown Garden will feature not only illuminations with dancing soap bubbles but also a Christmas tree made from a real fir tree standing approximately 8.5 meters tall and a “Path of Light” illuminated by soft golden lights. This year also marks the debut of the “MIDWINTER LOUNGE,” where visitors can enjoy champagne, light meals, and sweets in a luxurious space enveloped by the illuminations.

A winter tradition in Omotesando. Approximately 900,000 champagne-gold lights illuminate about 150 zelkova trees lining a 1.1-kilometer stretch of the avenue. The streets of Omotesando are enveloped in warm light, creating a dazzling backdrop for winter strolls.
