Last year, the second iteration of “DIG SHIBUYA” featured 33 programs including Japan’s largest drone show with 2,200 drones and the Ryuichi Sakamoto tribute music festival “RADIO SAKAMOTO Uday -New Context Fes × DIG SHIBUYA-,” drawing approximately 450,000 attendees. The event returns this year.
Five programs to experience the latest culture

1. “DIG SHIBUYA THEATRON” by ALTEMY: Enjoy theater-style performances on Park Street
Nostalgic for Shibuya’s past as a city where every corner was a theater, Kōen-dōri, Shibuya’s main street, transforms into an “outdoor urban theater = Theatron” for one day only. By partially restricting traffic and installing the “Theatron” as a space for appreciating the city, passersby become the audience, able to view performances and exhibitions from all angles.
2. Digital Art “SCREENS CONTEXTUALIZED”
Screens throughout the city—from small street displays like MIYASHITA PARK, Shibuya MODI (Shueisha Vision), and Shibuhako Vision to massive building-mounted screens—were opened to over 40 artists. Digital public art was displayed across Shibuya’s entire signage network, creating an “outdoor museum.”
3. Vocal Cord AI Masaya Nakahara “Drawing Novels with Vocal Cords!”
“Vocal Cord AI Masaya Nakahara” was born—trained on all novels and critiques by Mishima Prize-winning author Masaya Nakahara and cloning his voiceprint. Visitors can co-create stories with AI Nakahara through repeated vocal dialogue. It also draws attention as “live literature,” where each visitor’s words blend to generate a unique novel every time.
4, Live Performance “RADIO SAKAMOTO Uday”

The music festival “RADIO SAKAMOTO Uday -New Context Fes × DIG SHIBUYA-,” carrying on the spirit of musician Ryuichi Sakamoto, returns this year. Performers include Korean DJ and producer 250 and KIRARA, along with STUTS from Japan. The experimental music project “HEAR HERE -GATHERING,” curated by Shuta Hasunuma, will also be held.
5, Workshop Session Meetup – Opening Event
A special session, pitch & meetup where you can connect with artists and creators from Japan and abroad, as well as overseas startups in the creative sector. The program includes initiatives in new classical music performed by a VTuber violinist and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, and acts by international DJs. It offers a wide range of programs accessible to everyone from students interested in creativity and technology, to those involved in design and art, and creators in the creative industry and corporate sectors.
