“SWAN,” a music series centered on two-man live performances by two musicians, will be held on Saturday, July 4, at Box300 inside MoN Takanawa. Meg Bonus and Fumi Noguchi will perform at the inaugural event.
A New Form of Two-Band Live Performance Realized by “SWAN”
“SWAN” is a music project structured around the concept of “2” itself. Centered on live sets by each artist, the event carefully designs set changes, lighting, and the reverberations of sound to create a continuous flow where the two performances are experienced as a single, uninterrupted experience.
Another defining feature is that, rather than relying on large-scale sessions or improvisational collaborations, the event focuses on the relationships and shifts that emerge between the two acts’ performances within a minimalist setting.
Meg Bonus, performing on the first night, is a solo project by Kei Nomoto. Kei Nomoto himself handles the writing, composition, and production of all the songs.
Drawing from a rich background that has absorbed a wide variety of music—both domestic and international, across all genres—they craft universal yet pop-oriented melodies set to avant-garde tracks, garnering attention from all quarters.
Fumi Noguchi is a musician who creates music with a focus on improvisation and physical sensation.
After studying classical piano, she began producing music through home recording and released her first album, *botto*, in 2023. In 2025, she released her second album, *Fujiko*, which she created during a residency in a vacant house in the Nasu Highlands.
By bringing together two acts with distinct sonic textures, structures, and approaches to silence, an experience emerges that differs from conventional split-bill concerts, offering both continuity and variation.
The venue, Box300, is a space where audiences can experience subtle changes in sound and light. Madoka Sato is in charge of the lighting, which visually complements the differences and transitions in the music.
