BASEGATE Yokohama Kannai is a large-scale mixed-use complex currently under construction in front of JR Kannai Station as part of the “Yokohama City Former City Hall Block Utilization Project.” It will house a commercial area centered around offices and restaurants, a hotel utilizing the preserved former Yokohama City Hall administrative building, and is scheduled to open on March 19.
Wondaria Yokohama’s experience zone will be located on the 4th floor of the BASEGATE Yokohama Kannai Tower. It has also been decided that the 3rd floor will house the Wondaria Cafe and Wondaria Shop. The facility will consist of six distinct zones, each with a different theme, such as lush forests and the mysterious deep sea. Visitors can enjoy encounters with creatures and nature as they explore each zone.

Zone 2: Dive to Blue features Japan’s largest permanent LED immersive tunnel (5m wide, 8m deep, 4m high). High-definition visuals connecting from overhead to floor level envelop visitors, creating a full-body sensation of diving into the deep sea.
Zone 3 live-action visuals
The subsequent “Zone 3: The Mimicry Forest” is a zone themed around the mimicry of life, set in a primeval forest. Visitors can encounter flocks of butterflies taking flight from the dense forest.

Using the facility’s dedicated “Wandaria App,” visitors can hold their smartphones over creatures to learn information about the animals appearing in the visuals. Missions can also be completed by finding creatures. Exploring the facility itself becomes an opportunity to learn about biodiversity.
