The “Enjoy Akita Sake in Tokyo” event will be held at Ebisu Garden Place on Saturday, April 4th and Sunday, April 5th.
Twenty-eight breweries will participate, offering over 50 varieties for tasting.
Akita Prefecture is one of Japan’s leading rice-producing regions and stands out as a “Kingdom of Fine Sake” in both production and consumption.
Its sake brewing history is ancient, with roughly 90% of the Akita Prefecture Sake Brewers Cooperative having been in operation for over a century. The oldest brewery in the prefecture is “Hiraizumi” in Nikaho City, founded in the first year of the Chōkyō era (1487), known as the third oldest brewery in Japan.
The “Enjoy Akita Sake in Tokyo” event will feature a diverse lineup of Akita sake, including 28 brands from breweries like Hiraizumi, showcasing each brewery’s signature premium sakes and new releases. In addition to sake tastings, the event will offer sake sales, as well as snacks and goods sold by the Akita Prefecture antenna shop.
