Koishikawa Korakuen is designated as a Special Historic Site and a Special Place of Scenic Beauty as a Japanese garden of high artistic and ornamental value under the Law for Protection of Cultural Properties. The garden is a kaiyushiki style garden with a “landscape” of “mountains,” “rivers,” and “rice paddies (villages)” arranged around a “landscape” of “sea” in “O-sensui” (large fountain).

2, National Showa Memorial Park
A national park located in Tachikawa City and Akishima City, the park is divided into five zones, with zones A and B having a western image (urban axis) and zones C, D, and E having a natural image (nature axis), with the Musashino landscape being recreated as you move northward. There is a swimming pool, BBQ area, vast “everyone’s field” and dog run on the grounds, so you will never get bored no matter how many times you visit.

3, Shinjuku Gyoen
Designed by a French landscape architect, the garden skillfully combines a European-style formal garden, a landscape garden, and a Japanese garden, and is a representative modern Western garden of the Meiji era and one of the few masterpieces of landscape gardens in Japan.

4, Hamarikyu Gardens
Originally the garden of the Tokugawa shoguns, this garden is located in Chuo Ward. Looking out from inside the garden, you will be impressed by the contrast of the Tokyo buildings spreading out in the back. If you want to take a break between strolls, we recommend the Nakajima teahouse.

3, Shiseido Gallery
Opened in 1919, this is the oldest existing gallery in Japan. With a ceiling height of over 5 meters, the space is more like a museum than a typical gallery. Since the 1990s, the gallery has focused on contemporary art, introducing the avant-garde and pure expressions of the same era.
